Erkan Demiroğlu
Born in Bursa, designer Erkan Demiroğlu first showed his talent in amateur platforms by winning awards in painting competitions held during his primary and secondary school years in Bursa.
Demiroğlu, who received first place in the Department of Painting at the Faculty of Education at Uludağ University in 1992, preferred to continue his undergraduate education in the Department of Textile after studying for one year in the Department of Painting. He received many more awards in various printing and design competitions during his undergraduate education. After completing his undergraduate education as the first successful student of his class, he continued his graduate education in the clothing department of Istanbul Marmara University Fine Arts Academy. He won the second place in İTKİB Young Designers Competition in 1996 and started his professional career in the Design department of Polo Garage brands in 1997. He created both men's and women's collections here for 6 years.
He founded the famous Turkish fashion brand GIZIA; he played an active role in the creation of the brand's name, logo and unique concepts. He worked as the head of the design department at GIZIA for 14 years.
Demiroğlu's fashion adventure, which began among the silk looms in Bursa Kozahan Courtyard, continues today with the "ED" collection he created in his own name and opens up to new horizons in the world through the gates of Istanbul.
