Belma Özdemir

Born in Istanbul, Belma Özdemir graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Textile Art Department, Clothing Design in 1989 and completed her master's degree in the same department. Özdemir taught as a part-time instructor in this department for many years. She also serves as the Co-President of the Fashion Designers Association within the framework of the association's mission. Since she started her career in 1993, Özdemir has created her designer identity by taking part in many different collaborations as well as brands such as Boyner Group - Limon Company, Bessini, Derishow, Vizyon Deri - VSP and BAQA. She won the first prize in Beymen Academia competition she participated in in 1997. Belma Özdemir, who laid the foundations of her own brand in October 2013, also prepares advertisement, film, video clips and stage costumes. Özdemir's works include Sertab Erener's Eurovision stage costumes that brought Turkey first place in 2003, Nil Karaibrahimgil's stage and music video costumes, the costumes for the movie Zenne by Caner Alper & Mehmet Binay, which was released in 2011, Esin Maraşlıoğlu's Designloft project, Argande's social responsibility project that provides employment opportunities for women in Southeastern Anatolia, 2015 summer and winter collections under the signature of "Argande by Belma Özdemir", the 'art couture' work within the scope of the 'Kia project' at 2018 International Fashion Art Biennale Seoul, and the costumes for the 26th Istanbul Theater Festival 'Kibarlık Budalası' in 2022, among many others.
