IF Wedding Fashion İzmir 2024

The IF Wedding Fashion İzmir - Bridal, Groom, and Evening Wear Fair, one of Europe’s largest fashion fairs, was held last week at Fuarizmir. The event attracted a total of 18,206 professional visitors from Turkey and abroad, showcasing commercial meetings, fashion shows, and events.

Izmir, known as the capital of fashion and bridal wear, hosted local and international participants, experienced designers, young talents, and vibrant runway shows featuring the 2024 fashion collections. Organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association and hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the fair featured 228 exhibitors from 11 provinces in Turkey and 7 countries, covering product groups like evening wear, bridal gowns, groom suits, accessories, and children’s clothing. The event debuted 2024 collections with dazzling runways showcasing designs from renowned brands and emerging talents. In the 14th edition of the Bridal Gown Design Competition, Sercan İzci won first place.

Canan Karaosmanoğlu Alıcı, General Manager of İZFAŞ, emphasized the fair’s national and international significance and its contribution to the industry. "With 228 exhibitors from 11 provinces in Turkey and 7 countries, 15,180 local professional visitors from 72 provinces, and 3,026 foreign visitors from 95 countries, the fair has become a key meeting point for the industry globally. We know Turkey is a major player in the bridal and evening wear industry, with 70% of exports from Izmir, highlighting the city’s pivotal role. Exporting wedding attire such as bridal gowns, evening wear, and groom suits worldwide, particularly to Europe and the Middle East, strengthens Izmir’s international competitiveness in this field. Historically, Izmir has been a crossroads of trade and culture, serving as a gateway to the world. The 17th IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Fair opened the door to the fashion world from Izmir to the globe, not only with its product diversity, commercial relations, and contribution to exports but also with events like runway shows that set the direction for 2024 fashion," she said.

Alıcı also highlighted the opportunities provided by the fair for industry representatives and young designers, noting that events like the Bridal Gown Design Competition bring innovative and youthful perspectives to the industry, offering a promising outlook for the future. "We thank the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Tunç Soyer, for supporting our fairs and the development of the city’s fashion and textile industry. Our fairs, including Fashion Tech, Fashion Prime, and IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, have become significant elements of the textile, ready-to-wear, and fashion industry and Izmir’s and the country’s economy. The successes in the fashion and textile industry, combined with the city’s historical mission, further solidify Izmir’s place on the world stage. In this context, we continue to work tirelessly to strengthen Izmir’s mission as a city of fairs and contribute to exports by expanding the industry and promoting it internationally through future fairs," she said.

Hayati Ertuğrul, Chairman of the Board of the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association (EGSD), stated, "As EGSD, we are delighted to have been organizing the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir - Bridal, Groom, and Evening Wear Fair for 17 years in partnership with the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZFAŞ. Sector representatives, who have been preparing for the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Fair, the industry’s only fair, for a year, reported meeting existing customers and new local and international buyers. Seeing the results of the efforts made is gratifying. Our goal should always be to raise the bar higher. Izmir is known as the capital of bridal wear. With quality production and fast delivery conditions, our country and city have become a brand in the global market. Our city also has significant production capacity in groom suits and evening wear. I wholeheartedly congratulate our companies that continue to produce under all conditions without compromising on quality. The IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Bridal, Groom, and Evening Wear Fair has a significant role in the industry’s development. Our fair took place this year with the participation of 228 companies over an area of 22,740 square meters. I thank all the institutions and organizations contributing to the fair’s progress each year. Despite global adverse conditions, professional visitors from Europe, the Middle East, and many countries held bilateral meetings with exhibitors. The Bridal Gown Design Competition, held simultaneously with the fair, plays a vital role in our industry’s prominence in the world market with unique designs. I congratulate all the young people who achieved high ranks," he said.
