Awakening

The coronavirus pandemic has become the driving force of the most significant global change in most people's lives. During this process, new consumer behaviors have emerged. Like all industries, the fashion industry is working to adapt to a future that demands creativity. During this period, we experienced a forced pause. Designing is not a mechanical job; emotions and feelings are at the forefront of this work. The social and economic changes we are experiencing are affecting fashion globally. During the pandemic, we turned inward and questioned ourselves. Designers who appeal to large audiences adopted an important mission for themselves and evaluated this process as an awakening. We also questioned what we awoke to at the end of this process. During this time, calmness and practicality came to the fore. Relationships strengthened. It was the perfect timing for an awakening. How will the design community, where emotions are at the forefront, guide the fashion industry with this awakening? Perhaps sustainability will now become a conscious way of living. Consumers want to see designs that will make them feel good. A wedding dress is more special; the person wearing it should feel very special that day... We are experiencing the awakening and enlightenment of freedom and awareness in the human mind. Where have you arrived during the awakening process?
